PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a litter support system for a vehicle for accommodation of litters of various sizes.SOLUTION: A litter support system 10 comprises a support arm assembly 22, 24, 26, 28 for supporting a litter 18 in a horizontal position. The support arm assembly includes an adjustable hook assembly 54 disposed at a free end of the support arm assembly and having an open position and a closed position in order to secure side shafts of varying diameters D of the litter.
