Method and apparatus for limiting absorption of food products in specificparts of the digestive system is presented. A gastrointestinal implant device(200) is anchored in the stomach and extends beyond the ligament of Treitz.All food exiting the stomach is funneled through the device. Thegastrointestinal device includes an anchor (208) for anchoring the device tothe stomach and a flexible sleeve (202) to limit absorption of nutrients inthe duodenum. The anchor is collapsible for endoscopic delivery and removal.
