PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the cooling capacity of the compressor, reduce the size and the weight and the energy consumption and improve the life of the compression means of a pressure swing adsorption oxygen concentrator without increasing the number or the size of the cooling fan installed in the concentrator.SOLUTION: A pressure swing adsorption oxygen concentrator is provided with at least one adsorption column packed with an adsorbent adsorbing nitrogen preferentially to oxygen, a flow-switching means serving to repeat the desorption step to regenerate the adsorbent at regular intervals by reducing the pressure of the adsorption column, an air compression means having not less than one compression chamber to supply compressed air to the adsorption column and an air blowing means to cool the air compression means.
