PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a spectral image in which a vascular pattern is clearly shown without providing a band pass filter of an optical wavelength narrow band for a spectral image in a light source.SOLUTION: An electronic endoscope apparatus 100, which irradiates an inside of a subject with a light from an illuminating light source 41, and obtains a color-image signal by a solid imaging element 21, includes:a generation section 436 that generates a spectral image signal corresponding to the image of a narrow band, from a color-image signal and a storage section that stores information related to a band to be used in the generation section 436. The stored information related to a band is reused, so that a spectral image signal corresponding to the image of a narrow band can be generated.
