PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a spectral image in which a vascular pattern is clearly shown without providing a band pass filter of an optical wavelength narrow band for the spectral image in a light source by making a spectral image signal using a color-picture signal obtained from a usual electronic endoscope image.SOLUTION: The electronic endoscope apparatus 100, which irradiates a light from the illuminating light source 41 into a subject, and obtains the color-picture signal by a solid imaging element 21, includes a generation section 436 that generates the spectral image signal obtained by taking out a specific wavelength component from the color-picture signal.
