A modular transdermal drug delivery system is provided, the system comprising: an upper module with an outer backing layer laminated to a pressure sensitive adhesive layer covered by a removable release liner prior to assembly； And a lower module having a porous drug reservoir layer laminated to a skin-contact adhesive that adheres the system to the skin during drug delivery, wherein in one embodiment the skin-contact adhesive has a width substantially the same as the porous drug reservoir layer.
