The present invention relates to the improved process for the preparation of highly pure form of S-[1,2-(dicarbethoxy)-ethyl]O,O-dimethyl phosphorodithioate having formula (I). The compound of formula (I) has adopted name Malathion. The present invention also relates to the novel process of preparing intermediate O,O- dimethyldithiophosphoric acid of formula (II), which is useful in the preparation of Malathion. The Malathion prepared by the process of this invention is highly storage stable and toxic impurities are much lower than any other commercial preparation available for the pharmaceutical purpose.La présente invention concerne un procédé amélioré de fabrication de S-(1,2 - (dicarboéthoxy)-éthyl) O,O-diméthyle phosphorodithioate de très grande pureté de formule (I). Ce composé de formule (I) porte le nom de « malathion ». La présente invention concerne également le nouveau procédé de fabrication de lintermédiaire O,O-acide diméthyldithiophosphorique de formule (II), qui est utile dans la préparation du malathion. Le malathion préparé selon le procédé de la présente invention est extrêmement stable au stockage et sa teneur en impuretés toxiques est bien inférieure à celle de toute autre préparation commerciale disponible à des fins pharmaceutiques.
