PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for preventing the damage caused by birds, i.e., the birds building their nests in a wide range on steel towers.SOLUTION: This device for preventing the damage caused by the birds 10 includes an outer tube 1, an inner tube 2, a windmill 3 and a plurality of elastic pins 4. The outer tube 1 is arranged as approximately in parallel to an angle member L constituting the steel tower T and extending in an approximately horizontal direction. The inner tube 2 is arranged on the same axle with the outer tube 1 and supported at its both ends as capable of rotating. The windmill 3 is attached at the one side end part of the inner tube 2. The plurality of elastic pins 4 have base end parts installed in the axial direction of the inner tube 2 consecutively, and tip end parts having a length of protruding in centrifugal direction by exceeding the outer circumference of the outer tube 1. The outer tube 1 has slot holes 11 having an open angle by a prescribed angle from its center, so as to protrude the elastic pins 4 to upper parts.
