PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid treatment apparatus the apparatus configuration of which is simplified and which facilitates maintenance while securing high decomposition or sterilization treatment performance.SOLUTION: A liquid treatment apparatus includes: a surface light source 102 emitting vacuum-ultraviolet light from an emission surface a treatment tank 101 or a flow passage for retaining liquid and a transmission window 121 mounted on the treatment tank 101 or a wall 112 of the flow passage in contact with the emission surface to transmit the vacuum-ultraviolet light from the surface light source 102.
