Disclosed is an agent for preventing the bleeding from a cerebral cortical vein, which comprises an aqueous solution containing 120 to 160 mEq/L of a sodium ion, 1 to 5 mEq/L of a calcium ion and 75 to 165 mEq/L of a chlorine ion. The agent may further contain 1 to 5 mEq/L of a potassium ion. Also disclosed is a packaged product of a container accommodating the agent therein. The agent can prevent or reduce the bleeding from a cerebral cortical vein effectively in the field of neurosurgery including intracranial surgery, thereby providing a sufficiently spacious operation field during a surgery or preventing the occurrence of any disorder after a surgery.
