Provided is an absorptive article which allows a rear region of the absorptive article to be worn in the appropriate position and which fits the absorbent core to the buttocks of the wearer to suppress leaking. This absorptive article (1) comprises an excretion orifice contact region (S1) which faces towards the excretion orifice of the wearer the rear region (S2) which is positioned to the rear of the excretion orifice contact region (S1) and which is longer in the length direction than the excretion orifice contact region and an absorbent core (31) which is arranged in the excretion orifice contact region and the rear region. The absorbent core in the rear region comprises a first region (311) and also a second region (312) and a third region (313) which are positioned outwards of the first region in the width direction. In the first region a lengthwise slit (42) is provided which extends in the length direction of the absorptive article and which is configured such that the absorbent core in the rear region protrudes towards the wearer. The lengthwise slit (42) is visible from surface of the absorptive article that faces towards the skin and extends in the length direction of the absorptive article.
