PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective and safety muscle cell activator which can be used daily continuously, to provide an energy metabolism improving agent, and to provide a differentiation promoter.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a muscle cell activator containing Euphrasia officinalis extracts, and more specifically relates to an energy metabolism improving agent and a differentiation promoter of muscle cells containing Euphrasia officinalis extracts. For the formulation, particularly an internal use agent is preferable, though various formulations can be selected. Although a dosage is different according to the purpose of use, ages, weights, symptoms, therapeutic effects, and the like, 0.001-1,000 mg per 1 kg of body weight, particularly 0.01-100 mg is preferable. The invention is useful for pharmaceuticals aiming at muscle cell activation, quasi drugs, foods, and cosmetics.
