PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety and inexpensive promoter for tyrosinase activity which carries a fundamental role for melanin production in hair, comprising an ingredient that strongly promotes tyrosinase activity, as an active ingredient, and to provide a gray hair ameliorating agent having a remarkable effect on ameliorating or preventing gray hair comprising the tyrosinase activity promoter.

SOLUTION: The promoter for tyrosinase activity is characterized by comprising one or more kinds of active ingredients selected from an extract of Betula pendula Roth. with a water-containing lower alcohol, an extract of Cinchona succirubra Pavon et Klotzch, an extract of Tilia cordata Mill. with a water-containing lower alcohol, an extract of Uncaria gambir Roxburgh, and extract of yeast.
