The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition having an angiogenesis inhibition activity comprising a cold-water extract of Cinnamomum cassia as an effective component. According to the present invention, the cold-water extract of Cinnamomum cassia exhibits an angiogenesis inhibition activity by inhibiting: proliferation, migration, invasion, and tube formation of vascular endothelial cells, induced by a vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)； phosphorylation of signal transduction proteins inside the cell； activation of matrix metalloproteinase； and aorta sprouting, and thus may be beneficially used in the prevention and treatment of cancer disease and ocular disease caused by angiogenesis such as diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma.COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017본 발명은 육계(Cinnamomum cassia) 냉수 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 신생혈관형성 억제 활성을 갖는 약학적 조성물에 관한 것으로, 육계 냉수 추출물은 혈관내피 성장인자(vascular endothelial growth factor, VEGF)에 의해 유도된 혈관내피세포의 증식·이동·침습·관형성, 세포내 신호전달 단백질의 인산화, 기질금속단백질 분해효소(matrix metalloproteinase)의 활성, 및 대동맥 발아를 억제하여 신생혈관형성 억제 활성을 나타내므로, 신생혈관 형성으로 인한 당뇨병성 망막증, 녹내장 등과 같은 안구 질환 및 암 질환의 예방 및 치료에 유용하게 사용될 수 있다.
