The invention relates to the area of materials study through determination of physical properties of those and can be used in plant growing. A method for diagnostics of plant condition consists in that the plant is radiated after dark phase with light, with reception, measurement and registration of the signals of fluorescence, from the values of those the curve of induction of chlorophyll for the test plant and the control one is plotted. According to the invention, additionally from the range of chlorophyll fluorescence a diagnostic characteristic is chosen, and through change of effect of the agent on the control plant its condition is changed from stationary to critical, and for those states of the control plant the characteristic values of diagnostic characteristics are determined. Intermediate values between those are taken as specific ranges of respective conditions. The condition of the test plant is determined as the value of diagnostic characteristic chosen for the control plant. And diagnostics of condition of the test plant is performed through comparison of the values of characteristics of condition to respective specific range of characteristics of control plant conditopn.
