The present invention discloses an auditory prosthesis comprising:(I) a processor unit (400) comprising:(a) a microphone (150, 440, 750) for receiving and converting detected sounds into an output signal;(b) a processor that converts and processes the output signal into a first digital signal; and(c) a first transceiver or first transmitter that wirelessly transmits the first digital signal;(II) an implantable first stimulation module (100) adapted to output a first stimulating signal representative of the detected sound; and(III) at least one second stimulation module (200) adapted to output a second stimulating signal based on wirelessly received sound information according to the first digital signal,wherein at least one of the first and second stimulation modules (100, 200) comprises at least one of a transceiver and a receiver that receives and processes the first digital signal to achieve at least one of said first and second stimulating signal.
