PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant growth regulator having an effect for the increase of yield, the increase in the number of functional leave, growth acceleration or the like of Musaceae species particularly in banana, and a method for using the same.SOLUTION: The plant growth regulator has an effect, e.g., for the increase in the yield of Musaceae species, particularly in banana or the like comprises isoprothiolane(diisopropyl 1,3-dithiolane-2-ylidene malonate) as an effective component.
