A knotless tissue repair assembly for attachment of tissue to bone includes an anchor implant having a length of suture threaded therethrough. The implant is preferably a soft and flexible three-dimensional structure. The implant can be moved from the first long low profile to a second short radially expanded shape having a larger diameter than the hole in which it is placed through the hole. The suture returns through the anchor, through the tissue to be secured, through a predetermined suture restraint region or passageway, without the need for the physician to tie a knot in the anchor that allows the suture to be secured therein.
