PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a device and method for analyzing a will in the brain with high accuracy and at a high speed, and for performing communication in realtime by solving the problem that it is necessary to install a largely scaled device, and that an operation method is complicate and a noise is large for a user in a conventional BMI technology for controlling external equipment under the consideration of a biological signal such as a cerebral activity, and for communicating with the others.SOLUTION: This communication support device is configured of a device for presenting a visual stimulus to a display surface or the like and a processor for processing brain wave data from an electroencephalograph for measuring a brain wave after the stimulus is presented by the device, and the processor is configured to determine that specific decision-making has been performed in the brain on the basis of the product of cumulative determination scores calculated from a determination analysis function obtained by analyzing the brain wave data and a success rate when the product exceeds a threshold, and to output the result of determination to equipment.【課題】脳活動などの生体信号に着目して外部機器を制御したり、他者に意思を伝達したりする従来のＢＭＩ技術においては、大型の装置を必要としたり、利用者にとり操作方法が複雑でノイズが大であるという問題があった。本発明では、脳内の意思を高精度および高速度で解析し、かつリアルタイムで意思伝達できる装置及び方法を実現する。【解決手段】表示画面などに視覚刺激を提示する装置と、該装置による刺激提示後の脳波を計測する脳波計からの脳波データを処理する処理装置とからなり、該処理装置は、脳波データを解析して得た判別分析関数による累積判別得点と成功率との積に基づいて、該積が閾値を超えた時に、特定の意思決定が脳内でなされたと判断して、判断結果を機器に出力する。【選択図】図１
