The present invention provides a method for producing a flexible prosthetic implant shell having an indicia, the method comprising the step of exposing a flexible implant shell comprising a matrix material and an additive dispersed therein to electromagnetic radiation such that the additive reacts with the electromagnetic radiation and forms an indicia, wherein the density of the additive is greater than that of the matrix material.
