PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stable and effective antiseptic formulation for indirect edible contact application.SOLUTION: Provided is an antiseptic formulation comprising: (a) an antibacterial activator selected from biguanide, monoguanide and their combination (b) a dialkyl dimethylammonium salt and (c) a compound selected from an alkyl dimethyl benzyl ammonium salt, an alkyl dimethyl(ethyl benzyl)ammonium salt, alkoxylated alcohol and their combination. The component (a) is present in an amount of 25 to 110 ppm, the component (b) is present in an amount of 20 to 125 ppm, and the component (a) and the component (b) are present in the range of 1:5 to 2.5:1 by weight ratio.
