A restraint device is provided comprising a first handle portion provided with a first engagement formation at a first end thereof, and a second handle portion comprising a second engagement formation, the engagement formations being arranged to engage as the handle portions are pushed together. Each handle portion has a bracelet member at an end thereof. The engagement formations are arranged to releasably, lockably engage, automatically on engagement. Thus no separate locking action such as turning a key may be required. A release mechanism is provided to release one engagement member from engaging the other to enable the handle portions to be separated.L'invention concerne un dispositif de retenue comprenant une première partie formant poignée ayant une première formation de prise à sa première extrémité, et une seconde partie formant poignée ayant une seconde formation de prise, les formations de prise étant conçues pour être en prise lorsque les parties poignées sont poussées ensemble.
