An electric toothbrush including a refill connectable to a handle via a coupling device. The handle has a drive mechanism and the refill has a brush head and a motion transmitting portion operably connected to the brush head for driving the brush head. The handle has a coupling stem that terminates at the free end and includes a coupling pin extending from the stem. The refill includes a generally tubular portion formed by a refill wall defining an interior space for receiving the coupling stem of the handle. The coupling device includes a pair of opposite elastically deformable cantilever arms disposed adjacent to the refill wall within the interior space of the refill.
