Processes are claimed for (i) refinement, decolourisation, purification or stabilisation of oils, fats and waxes derived from animal oils, vegetable oils, mineral oils, pyrolysis oils or cracking oils, (ii) refinement, decolourisation or removal of bitumen in crude sulphur purification, (iii) regeneration of organic solvents from laundering processes, (iv) clarification of wine, cider or juices, (v) stabilisation of beer, (vi) purification of saccharine juice or syrup, (vii) composting, or (viii) production of animal feeds, medicaments or cat litters. The processes all include, in at least one process step, addition of humic substances (HS).
