PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a convex type ultrasonic endoscope which achieves improvement in depiction ability of a distal side of a distal hard section displayed in an ultrasonic observation image without deteriorating insertion property of an insertion section.SOLUTION: The convex type ultrasonic endoscope 2 comprises an ultrasonic vibrator section 30 having an ultrasonic transmitting and receiving section 31 and the distal hard section 16 having a treatment instrument insertion passage 24 through which a treatment instrument, such as a puncture needle 26, connected to the ultrasonic vibrator section 30 passes. An ultrasonic transmitting and receiving surface 34 arranged on a convex surface of the ultrasonic transmitting and receiving section 31 includes ultrasonic transmitting and receiving surfaces 35 and 36 of two or more kinds of curvature in the arrangement direction of the ultrasonic vibrators 37 and having piezoelectric elements.
