PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a planting device capable of holding a seedling in an upright state in a planting unit and planting the seedling in a good planting posture even when the size of an opener is increased by installing a specific seedling guide in the planting unit. SOLUTION: This planting device is obtained by installing a freely openable and closable opener 41 under a freely liftable and lowerable planting unit 31 for charging a seedling from the upper side and is designed to lower the planting unit 31 in a closed state of the opener 41, thrust the opener 41 into a ridge, open the opener 41, thereby form a planting hole in the ridge and drop the seedling held in the interior of the planting unit 31 into the planting hole. In the planting device, the planting unit 31 is equipped with a seedling guide 36 composed of a cylindrical unit capable of passing the seedling therethrough and holding the seedling in a stood state in the closed state of the opener 41. A part of the seedling guide 36 for holding the seedling is preferably composed so as to freely expand and contract in the transverse direction.
