A method of obtaining new formulations based onlutein.The present invention describes a method ofpreparation of formulations of microcrystalline lutein,particularly in the form of esters, which are resistantto oxidation and are soluble in hydrophilic and/orlipophilic media. For these formulations, the esters oflutein are mixed with antioxidants, vegetable oilsand/or organic solvents, and this initial mixture issubmitted to various stages depending on the type offinal formulation required. These formulations aresuitable for direct application as colourants in thepharmaceutical, food and cosmetics fields. They canalso be used as diet supplements.
