PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce noise due to vibration of a gradient magnetic field coil without narrowing an imaging space gap or enlarging (enlarging in the height direction) an MRI apparatus.
SOLUTION: This magnetic resonance imaging apparatus includes a static magnetic field generator for generating a static magnetic field in the perpendicular direction to the imaging space 1, the gradient magnetic field coil 6 for generating a gradient magnetic field in the static magnetic field, and an RF coil 7 transmitting a high-frequency magnetic field for generating a nuclear magnetic resonance phenomenon and further includes a recess part provided in the imaging space side of the static magnetic field generator, the gradient magnetic field coil 6 disposed in the recess part, and a disk-shaped RF base 9 for supporting the RF coil, wherein the gradient magnetic field 6 is disposed in the recess part surrounded with the side faces and the base of the recess part, and the RF base.
