The present invention relates to a nematode control composition comprising, as an effective ingredient, grammicin isolated from a Xylaria grammica strain, and uses thereof, in which grammicin as a compound for controlling nematode according to the present invention is derived from a natural product so that it is harmless to a human body, does not cause any environmental contamination, and exhibits an excellent control activity against root knot nematodes, and thus it can be advantageously used for developing an environment-friendly natural nematicide and production of a high value-added organic agricultural product.Furthermore, grammicin can be utilized either directly or as a lead compound for developing a chemical for controlling nematode in animal and human. If this technique is developed and transferred to domestic companies to yield production of a biological control product, it can contribute not only to the domestic production of environment-friendly agricultural products but also earning of foreign currencies according to export of the technique to the global market.
