Compositions and methods for cancer radiotherapy and immunotherapy treatment are provided. Metal nanoparticles conjugated with an immune adjuvant are dispersed in a biodegradable polymer matrix that can be implanted into a patient and released gradually. The implant may be configured as a brachytherapy spacer and applicator, or radiation therapy reference marker, or may be a component thereof.
