The present invention relates to a device for evaporating a chemical agent and delivering the chemical agent as a fumigant to an area in need of treatment. The evaporation device according to the invention comprises a heater in fluid communication with the gas stream. The mixing means is in fluid communication with the chemical agent stream. The heater heats the gas to produce a hot gas stream. The hot gas stream is directed to the mixing means such that the hot gas stream contacts the chemical stream and vaporizes at least a portion of the chemical stream. The invention also relates to a processing method using this device.
