The ultrasonic cross-sectional image measurement apparatus is provided with: an annular pressing band (40) that includes an ultrasonic wave-transmissive board material (26); a sealed container (16) that has an opening (24) closed by the ultrasonic wave-transmissive board material (26) and that is filled with oil (28); an ultrasonic probe (14) that is stored in the sealed container (16) and that gives/receives an ultrasonic wave to/from a brachial artery (29a) through the ultrasonic wave-transmissive board material (26); and an ultrasonic signal processing unit (84) that generates an ultrasonic cross-sectional image on the basis of the ultrasonic signal received by the ultrasonic probe (14).
