Provided is a carbonated water production apparatus capable of increasing concentration of carbon dioxide in water, and a control method thereof. To this end, the carbonated water production apparatus comprises: a water tank storing water； a carbon dioxide container storing high pressure carbon dioxide； a carbonated water tank storing carbonated water produced by mixing water supplied from the water tank and carbon dioxide supplied from the carbon dioxide container； and a pressure sensor provided on a carbon dioxide supply line for supplying carbon dioxide in the carbon dioxide container to the carbonated water tank so as to respectively sense pressure in the carbonated water tank and the carbon dioxide container.본 발명은 탄산수의 농도를 높일 수 있는 탄산수 제조장치 및 그 제어방법을 제공하고자 함에 그 목적이 있다. 이를 구현하기 위한 본 발명의 탄산수 제조장치는, 물을 저장하는 물탱크； 고압의 탄산가스가 저장된 탄산가스용기； 상기 물탱크로부터 공급된 물과 상기 탄산가스용기로부터 공급된 탄산가스를 혼합하여 생성된 탄산수를 저장하는 탄산수탱크； 상기 탄산가스용기의 탄산가스를 탄산수탱크에 공급하기 위한 탄산가스공급라인 상에 구비되어 상기 탄산수탱크와 탄산가스용기의 압력을 각각 감지할 수 있는 압력감지센서로 이루어진다.
