PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mist generator that counts the number of times of mist operation and indicates cleaning of a water storage chamber at a predetermined value of the number of times.SOLUTION: The mist generator includes water level detection means 12 detecting water level presence when water is stored in a water storage chamber 8 above a certain water level, and control means 41 controlling the output of a heater 22 so as to hold the stored water in the water storage chamber 8 at set temperature, controlling driving means 13 and an air blower 4 to perform mist operation for cleaning air in the room while supplying nanomist and negative ions into the room, and stopping the mist operation when the water level detection means 12 detects water level absence.
