A renal failure progression inhibitor, a renal failure prevention agent and a phosphorus sulphate sulfuric acid production inhibitor containing para-milon derived from Euglena or a processed product thereof as an active ingredient. For example, in the inhibitor of renal failure progression, 1 to 5 g of para-milone per one time is administered orally to the patient undergoing dialysis therapy for several consecutive days after chronic renal failure. In particular, the patient is administered as a capsule or powder, alone or with a predetermined period of time before and after the administration of the other medicament.인간 특히 신부전 환자를 대상으로 하는 신규의 신부전 진행 억제제, 신부전 예방제 및 인독실황산 산생 저해제를 제공한다. 유글레나 유래의 파라밀론 또는 그 가공품을 유효 성분으로 하는 신부전 진행 억제제, 신부전 예방제 및 인독실황산 산생 저해제이다. 예를 들면 신부전 진행 억제제에서는 1회당 1~5g의 파라밀론이 만성 신부전에 이환되어 투석 요법을 받고 있는 환자에 대하여 1일 수 회 계속해서 경구 투여된다. 특히 당해 환자에 대하여 캡슐제 또는 분말제로서 다른 약제 투여 전후에 소정 시간을 비우고 단독으로 투여된다.
