PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a female puncture member protecting device for connection to male connection, and a method for connecting such a protecting device to a male connection part.SOLUTION: The female puncture protecting device 100 includes an outer case 102 and a connecting member 101. The connecting member is disposed at the outer case and at least partially surrounded by the outer case. The outer case is disposed to move between a first position and a second position, and when the outer case is in the first position, the connecting member is substantially locked not to move along a longitudinal axis A, and when the outer case is in the second position, the connecting member is movable along the longitudinal axis A. The female puncture member protecting device further has an operating position and a non-operating position.
