PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blood pressure measurement apparatus starting to acquire measurement information, with a housing held with hands.SOLUTION: A blood pressure measurement apparatus 1A includes: a housing 10 held with both hands 2 and 3 a pair of electrocardiographic electrodes 31 and 32 provided contactably with both the hands 2 and 3 holding the housing 10 respectively and detecting an electrocardiographic signal a pulse wave sensor 20 provided contactably with either of both the hands 2 and 3 holding the housing 10 and detecting a pulse wave signal a measurement circuit (a measurement section) that acquires measurement information such as a time difference between an electrocardiographic R-wave in the electrocardiographic signal and a pulse wave reference point in the pulse wave signal, and a pulse wave amplitude in the pulse wave signal an arithmetic circuit (an arithmetic section) that calculates a blood pressure using the measurement information and a display section 50 that displays the blood pressure.
