The apparatus and the method allow precise real-time methane gas measurement by allowing the real-time measurement of the methane gas generated in the rumen of the cattle. The precisely measured methane gas generation amount can result in the measurement of the actual amount of greenhouse gas generated by microbes in the rumen during feeding with materials that can be used in various ingredient feeds, food byproducts, and other types of feeds. In addition, the present invention can be used for the development of greenhouse gas-reducing feeds. The real-time methane gas measurement apparatus has a simple configuration, and thus the apparatus can be manufactured at a low cost.
