A trigger point therapy device for applying pressure to a localized area ofmyofascial tissue thatis accessed from the exterior of a patients body. The therapy device includesa base portion hastop and bottom surfaces that define a width dimension for the base portion.The therapy devicealso includes a pressure applicator that is connected to the base portion. Thedevice allows anequivalent amount of pressure to be applied while the patient is lying on asoft surface ascompared to lying on a hard surface. This increases the length of time that apatient will cancomfortably use the device and promotes usage of the device by the patient. Amethod includesplacing the device on a soft surface and positioning a patient on the softsurface to place thepressure applicator in engagement with the localized area of myofascialtissue.
