A dry meat Jilebi mix for producing meat Jilebis is disclosed which comprises from about 10 to about 40 percent by weight of dehydrated meat, from about 50 to about 85 percent by weight of flour, from about 1 to about 5 percent by weight of egg powder, from about 0.5 to about 2 percent by weight of leavening agent, from about 0.25 to about 0.5 percent by weight of edible common salt powder, from about 0.01 to about 0.02 percent by weight of dried saffron powder, and from about 0.01 to about 0.02 percent by weight of citric acid. The mix of the present invention may be packed in pouches or envelopes or other protective cartons which afford moisture barrier features.
