PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide wire, in which a coil body has a surface covered with a coating film, and in which the coil body (or a guide wire) can be easily curved.SOLUTION: A guide wire 2 comprises: a core shaft 4 a coil body 5 covering the core shaft 4 and a coating film 12 covering the coil body 5. The coating film 12 goes more deeply than the centre 6c of the element wire 6 between the element wires 6 forming the coil body 5.
