The present invention relates to an antimicrobial composition containing an extract of Cynanchi wilfordii Radix. The extract of Cynanchi wilfordii Radix, which is an active ingredient of the antimicrobial composition according to the present invention, has excellent antimicrobial activity against Bacillus cereus, which is one of food poisoning bacteria, and thus is expected to be useful as a pharmaceutical composition for alleviating, preventing, or treating food poisoning, a functional food composition, and the like. In addition, the extract of Cynanchi wilfordii Radix, which is an active ingredient of the antimicrobial composition according to the present invention, also has excellent antimicrobial activity against Bacillus thuringiensis or Bacillus subtilis, and thus is expected to be useful as a disinfectant, an antiseptic, a composition for a sterilizing and cleaning agent, a composition for a food preserving agent, and the like.본 발명은 하수오 추출물을 포함하는 항균 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 항균 조성물의 유효성분인 하수오 추출물이 식중독 원인균 중 하나인 바실러스 세레우스(Bacillus cereus)에 대하여 우수한 항균 활성을 가지는바, 식중독을 개선, 예방 또는 치료하는 약학적 조성물, 기능성 식품 조성물 등으로 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.또한, 본 발명에 따른 항균 조성물의 유효성분인 하수오 추출물은 바실러스 투린지엔시스(Bacillusthuringiensis) 또는 바실러스 서브틸리스(Bacillus subtilis)에 대해서도 우수한 항균 활성을 가지는바, 소독제, 살균 세정제 조성물, 식품 보존제 조성물 등으로도 유용하게 이용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
