PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide forceps in which large loads are prevented from being applied to a constituent member.
SOLUTION: In the forceps 1, first and second forceps arms 13 and 14 and a bearing part 9 are connected respectively by a pair of planar first and second connecting members 15 and 16, the distal end side of the first and second connecting members 15 and 16 are jounaled on the first and second forceps arms 13 and 14 by second and third shafts 17 and 18 respectively, and the proximal end side is pivotally supported on the bearing part 9 by a fourth shaft 19. The first and second connecting members 15 and 16 have parts to be extended according to the load generated when held by first and second holding parts 10 and 11 between the second and third shafts 17 and 18 and the fourth shaft 19. The parts to be extended are curved parts 15a and 16a provided with an inter-shaft distance exceeding an interval between the second and third shafts 17 and 18 and the fourth shaft 19 in a state in which the first and second holding parts 10 and 11 are mutually closed, and curved and formed in the thickness direction of the bearing part 9.
