PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide pet food having a function of inhibiting accumulation of lipid peroxide in a living body such as a dog and a cat, and capable of maintaining health of a pet while reducing industrial waste by utilizing a byproduct of meat which cannot be used for food for a human, as a raw material.SOLUTION: Glutathione is added to pet food for a dog and a cat. An addition amount of glutathione per 1 kg dry weight of pet food is preferably 50 to 1000 mg, and more preferably 100 to 400 mg. A byproduct of meat may be used as a raw material of the pet food.【課題】イヌ、ネコの生体内において過酸化脂質蓄積を抑制する機能のあるペットフードを提供すること。また、人の食用には使えない畜肉のバイプロダクトを原材料として利用することで産業廃棄物を低減しながら、ペットの健康を維持できるようなペットフードを提供すること。【解決手段】イヌ、ネコ用のペットフードに、グルタチオンを添加する。ペットフード乾燥重量１ｋｇ当たりのグルタチオン添加量は５０ｍｇ～１０００ｍｇが望ましく、１００ｍｇ～４００ｍｇがより望ましい。この場合、ペットフード原材料として、畜肉のバイプロダクトを使用してもよい。【選択図】なし
