The spraying apparatus (1) comprises an electrostatic charger (5) to charge the crop treatment substance electrostatically. The spraying apparatus (1) further comprises an air stream generator (8) for generating an air stream such that the air stream can entrain the atomized and charged crop treatment substance (11) to the crop.
