According to the invention, a first expansion-screw housing, a first branch and first means of pressing against one or more teeth of the patient form a first seamless one-piece assembly obtained by powder bed fusion, and a second housing, a second branch and second means for pressing against one or more teeth of the patient form a second seamless one-piece assembly obtained by powder bed fusion. The first and second one-piece assemblies are machined to allow the fitting of the screws and of the slides of a screw-type expansion system.L'invention concerne un dispositif orthodontique d'expansion du maxillaire ou de la mandibule d'un patient dans le sens transversal et son procédé de fabrication. Selon l'invention, un premier boîtier d'une vis d'expansion, une première branche et des premiers moyens d'appui sur un ou plusieurs dents du patient forment un premier ensemble monobloc, sans soudure, obtenu par impression par fusion d'un lit de poudre, et un deuxième boîtier, une deuxième branche et des deuxième moyens d'appui sur une ou plusieurs dents du patient forment un deuxième ensemble monobloc, sans soudure, obtenu par fusion laser d'un lit de poudre. Les premier et deuxième ensembles monoblocs sont usinés pour permettre le montage de la vis et des coulisseaux d'un système d'expansion à vis.
