PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disposable diaper allowing easy understanding of the diaper being wet by urination and the like and appropriately by the formation of a projecting part and allowing an appropriate time to change the diaper to be easily determined.
SOLUTION: The diaper includes an absorbent and a back surface sheet and, between the absorbent and the back surface sheet, a urination detection layer which comprises an absorbent sheet and is more compact than the absorbent. The absorbent sheet has a fiber layer formed by a wet paper manufacturing method and a highly absorbent polymer fixed to structural fibers of the fiber layer. The highly absorbent polymer disperses in a flat surface direction of the absorbent sheet, increases thickness of the urination detection layer by absorbing liquid, and a projecting part is formed on the surface on the side of the back surface sheet.
