Apparatus for determining the orientation of an endoscope relative to gravity, the apparatus comprising: a cap sized for mounting to the endoscope, the cap having a lumen extending therethrough a circular channel disposed about the lumen and at least one visually-discernable object movably disposed in the circular channel so that the at least one visually-discernable object automatically aligns itself with gravity such that when the cap is mounted to the endoscope, the position of the at least one visually-discernable object is visible to the user when viewing through the endoscope.La présente invention concerne un appareil permettant de déterminer lorientation dun endoscope par rapport à la gravité, lappareil comprenant : un capuchon dimensionné pour être monté sur lendoscope, une lumière sétendant à travers le capuchon un canal circulaire disposé autour de la lumière et au moins un objet discernable visuellement placé de manière à pouvoir se déplacer dans le canal circulaire de sorte que lau moins un objet discernable visuellement saligne automatiquement avec la gravité, de telle sorte que lorsque le capuchon est monté sur lendoscope, la position de lau moins un objet discernable visuellement est visible à lutilisateur lorsque celui-ci regarde à travers lendoscope.
