A dental restoration and a method of producing the same is disclosed. Thedental restorationcomprises a zirconia crown bonded to top of an abutment tooth and a porcelainlayer build-up ontop of the zirconia crown. The zirconia crown has dimensions that are smallerthan the outerdimensions of the abutment tooth. A first surface of the zirconia crownconfigured to adhere tothe abutment tooth and a second surface of the zirconia crown configured toreceive theporcelain layer build-up are treated by embossing.
