A therapy device (10) for producing electromagnetic oscillations comprises a frequency generator unit (12) for producing AC voltage and a control unit (18), which controls the frequency generator unit (12). The frequency generator unit (12) is embodied to produce the AC voltage with a time-varying maximum amplitude, wherein the maximum amplitude is the difference between the maximum amplitude and the minimum amplitude of a period of the AC voltage. The control unit (18) varies the maximum amplitude repeatedly between a lower amplitude threshold and an upper amplitude threshold. The control unit can also vary the frequency of the AC voltage output by the frequency generator unit (12) in accordance with a continuous, in particular linear, function of a lower limit frequency to an upper limit frequency or of the upper limit frequency to the lower limit frequency. The device can also comprise a first frequency generator unit (12) for producing AC voltage with a first phase and a second frequency generator unit (14) for producing AC voltage with a second phase, wherein the control unit (18) regulates the phase shift between the first phase and the second phase in such a way that the phase shift is between 110° and 130°, in particular 120°.
